Wallace’s Expectations High For The 2015 Season

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2015) – Bubba Wallace, the newest addition to the Roush Fenway Racing organization, has lofty expectations moving into the 2015 season.  While this season marks his first in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, Wallace has set his sights high.

“I expect nothing less than a championship,” said Wallace.  “We will have to use these first couple of races to settle in and get comfortable, and then continue to be consistent.”

The rookie of the year contender comes off a strong sophomore season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), with four wins, two poles, nine top-fives and 14 top-10s.  Wallace’s victories have come at some of the series’ toughest tracks, including Eldora Speedway and Martinsville Speedway.

Wallace plans to use the knowledge gained over the last two NCWTS seasons and apply that where he can.  Although the 21-year-old driver has experienced success in the NCWTS, he knows he will face challenges this season.

“My biggest challenge will be going to some of these tracks that I haven’t been to yet,” said Wallace.  “It’s going to take some working up to, to get comfortable at places like Atlanta and Fontana.  I think it will be a fun challenge.”

The Roush Fenway driver has an advantage at those tracks where he has not yet raced: a veteran crew chief in Chad Norris.  Norris has a strong pedigree, having worked with several veteran drivers including Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle, Travis Pastrana and Trevor Bayne.

Wallace and the NASCAR XFINITY Series take to the track at Daytona International Speedway for the first race of the season on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3:30 pm ET on FoxSports1.
