Roush Fenway Racing Wellness Challenge Mid-Week Update
CONCORD, N.C. (July 22, 2015) – On Monday, The Roush Fenway Racing No. 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR XFINITY Series pit crews began the RFR Wellness Challenge in an effort to highlight how important it is for everyone to take better control of their health, including those living with diabetes. As they embark on day three of the challenge, the competition is heating up.
Here is how the competition looks after Tuesday’s installment:
Ryan Reed and Greg Biffle will both race the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford in their respective NASCAR series races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, marking Lilly’s first ever Sprint Cup Series start. Both No. 16 crews are going head-to-head to see who has the most active minutes, takes the most steps and burns the most calories during the week. The first four days of the challenge will include the tire changers and carriers. On the final days of the challenge, the crew chiefs and drivers will take their turn with the wellness tracker.

Reed’s crew will have the opportunity to earn some extra wellness points on Wednesday when they perform pit stop demonstrations at Lilly Diabetes’ Headquarters in Indianapolis. While the crew earns their steps, Reed and his Roush Fenway Racing teammates will sign autographs for Lilly employees at ‘Brickyard in Our Backyard,’ an employee appreciation event at Lilly’s 111-acre campus in downtown Indy.
“It’s cool to see how competitive the guys are with this wellness challenge and how excited they are to come to Lilly’s Headquarters,” said Reed. “I have confidence my team will make a comeback by the end of the week and I will do my part on Saturday with the wellness tracker and on the track in the Lilly Diabetes 250.”
