Roush Fenway Racing Returns to Sweet Home Alabama
Roush Fenway Racing makes its second trip of 2018 to The Yellowhammer State this weekend, as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) converges on the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway for a much-anticipated race Sunday afternoon. RFR has five Cup wins at Talladega, the most recent coming last spring with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. visiting victory lane.

Running Clear Across Alabama
Roush Fenway has seen its fair share of success at the Alabama track, amassing 263 starts, eight wins, 42 top-five’s and 88 top-10s across NASCAR’s three major touring series. Roush machines have also tallied eight poles, including four in cup action, and have led more than 1400 laps.
Winning in Greenbow
Roush Fenway has won in all three of NASCAR’s major series at Talladega. The team won its first race at Talladega in the MENCS event in the spring of 1995. Former Roush Fenway driver Mark Martin won for the organization in all three series at the 2.66-Mile oval.
Most recently, Ricky Stenhouse piloted his Fifth Third Bank Ford Fusion to victory lane last spring when the MENCS rolled through Talladega for the organization’s eighth win at the historic track.
And That’s All I Have to Say About That
It’s no secret that Roush looks forward to restrictor plate racing each year, given the recent success on superspeedways. Stenhouse earned his first career MENCS victory at Talladega just last spring, a race he also started on the pole in. The 2016 fall race also saw Stenhouse earn a top-five finish, while he ran ninth in the 2015 fall event.
Bayne is coming off his best performance in Alabama after finishing third there at this race last fall. He also garnered a top-10 in the 2016 spring race and has started no worse than 13th in five of the last six races at Talladega.
Roush Fenway Unrestricted
Roush Fenway has run a total of 410 MENCS races with restrictor plates, earning 12 victories, 73 top-fives, 144 top-10s and has led 1821 laps.
