Biffle Finishes 31st at Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (September 12, 2015) – Greg Biffle battled a loose-handling No. 16 Cheez-It Ford Saturday evening under the lights at Richmond International Raceway to a 31st-place finish. The loose handling condition plagued the team in practice and contributed to a 38th-place qualifying effort.
The No. 16 Cheez-It team worked hard during two practice sessions on handling and towards the end of the final practice made some progress in race trim. In qualifying trim Biffle continued to be too loose and after two attempts to advance to round two in qualifying, he was left with a 38th-place starting position.
At the start of the race Biffle made up ground, but as the 400-lap race unfolded long green flag runs ensued which did not leave many opportunities for adjustments. Biffle had his hands full with the loose-handling Ford and lost a few laps to the field while trying different wedge and air pressure adjustments on pit stops.
In an attempt to gain back one of the lost laps, Biffle took the “wave around” on the final restart, but was overcome by fresher tires. Biffle crossed the finish line 31st, four laps down to the race leaders.
