Field set for Thursday’s Twin Duel Races
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 12, 2018) – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. led the Roush Fenway Racing qualifying effort on Sunday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway.
Stenhouse circled the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway in 46.381 seconds (194.045 mph) to place ninth on the speed charts. Trevor Bayne clocked his best lap at 46.781 seconds (192.386 mph) for a 20th-place qualifying effort.
Sunday’s session set the front row for next week’s Daytona 500, as well as the starting lineup for Thursday’s Twin Duel qualifying races. Stenhouse will participate in Duel 1, starting the race in fifth. Bayne finishes the night in Duel 2, starting 10th.
The Duels consist of two 60-lap, 150-mile races. The first Duel is scheduled for 7 p.m. while the second will start at 9 p.m.
