Fresh off of an 18th-place finish at Martinsville Speedway, Bayne enters the first off weekend of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season with high hopes. Those high hopes stem from the fact that the NSCS travels to Texas Motor Speedway following the off weekend, a track that has been instrumental to Bayne’s career.
The Knoxville, Tenn. native made his NSCS debut at the 1.5-mile oval in Nov. 2010, piloting the No. 21 Ford for the famed Wood Brothers. Taking the green flag from the 28th position, Bayne was able to record a top-20 finish, earning a 17th-place result. Texas also marks the site of Bayne’s first career NASCAR XFINITY Series victory, which came in the Nov. 2011 event after out-dueling Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin.
In addition, Texas is a homecoming for primary sponsor AdvoCare, which is headquartered in Plano, Texas, roughly 45 minutes from the Texas Motor Speedway.
The Duck Commander 500 will take the green flag at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX and PRN.
