Reed Seeks Victory in Season’s Final Race
Ryan Reed will make his fourth NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. In his three previous starts, Reed’s best finish of 13th came in 2013. In this race last season, Reed started and finished 17th.

Phoenix Recap
Reed and the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association team gave one of its best performances of the season last weekend at Phoenix Raceway. Reed earned a career-best third-place starting position for the Chase elimination race. Reed was able to run in the top-10 for the majority of the race, crossing the finish line in sixth and just barely missed advancing to the final round of the inaugural NXS Chase.
American Diabetes Month
November 1st officially kicked off American Diabetes Month and the American Diabetes Association’s 2016 campaign, This Is DiabetesTM.
This year’s campaign captures the authenticity of people who understand diabetes best, by inviting them to share a glimpse of their lives on social media using #ThisIsDiabetes.
Roush Fenway Racing and Reed will support the cause in a variety of ways. Reed and all Roush Fenway Fords will carry a special C-Post decal all month long, highlighting that November is American Diabetes Month.
In addition, Reed’s No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang will sport a special design this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway and at Homestead-Miami Speedway in three weeks. The deck lid will carry “This is the fast lane. #ThisIsDiabetes,” bringing the campaign theme to life through Reed’s personal perspective.
Roush Fenway, Reed Ink Multi-Year Renewal with Lilly Diabetes
Roush Fenway Racing has signed a multi-year renewal agreement for driver Ryan Reed to continue to pilot the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Reed, who five years ago was told he would never race again after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, qualified for the 2016 inaugural XFINITY Series Chase and scored his first victory in the series last season at Daytona.
2016 Season
Reed is currently fifth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series driver point standings after 32 of 33 races. He has recorded one top-five finish and seven top-10 finishes, led eight laps for the season and has recorded an average finish of 15.6.

“I’m so proud of this Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association team,” said Reed. “We obviously wish we were competing for the Championship this weekend, but we have nothing to lose and will do our best to get a win as we head into the offseason.”
