Kenseth Returns to Site of Fifth MENCS Win

2003 Cup Champion Matt Kenseth returns to the track where he’s previously won twice, including his fifth career win on the Cup circuit back in 2002. Piloting the No. 17 Ford for Jack Roush, Kenseth dominated the 400-lap race, leading 134 laps including the final 108. He also won the Saturday night event just three years ago, leading 352 of the 400 laps.

80K on Horizon

In MENCS action at Richmond, Jack Roush is nearing a milestone, just a few hundred laps shy of turning 80,000 at the .75-mile track. In 205 starts over the years, RFR Fords have logged 79,396 laps, with more than 96 percent of the overall laps completed.

Tale of the Tape

Roush Fenway has 205 starts in MENCS action at Richmond with five wins, 36 top-five and 71 top-10 finishes. RFR Fords have recorded 14 poles, led 2440 laps and tallied an average finish of 16.7. Former RFR driver Carl Edwards carded the organization’s most recent victory at the track in September of 2013.

To Xfinity and Beyond

Roush Fenway has earned nine victories, 42 top-five finishes, 64 top-10 finishes and an average finish of 11.7 at Richmond in the Xfinity Series. All-in-all, three different drivers are responsible for the nine victories at the Virginia short track (Edwards, Mark Martin and Jeff Burton).

Nine and Counting

Roush Fenway’s nine victories at Richmond rank fourth among all tracks the organization has competed on in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, trailing Darlington Raceway (15), Charlotte Motor Speedway (12) and North Carolina Speedway – formerly known as Rockingham – (11).
