Roush Fenway Racing Heads To Talladega, That’s Not In The County Of Greenbow
Roush Fenway Racing returns to the track that is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get, as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) heads to Talladega Superspeedway, a track that has seen a Roush Fenway Ford visit Victory Lane seven times.

Overall, Roush Fenway has run well at the Alabama track, starting a total of 234 races and earning seven victories, 38 top-five and 80 top-10 finishes, six poles and 1,320 laps led across the NSCS, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS).

Roush Fenway has won in all three of NASCAR’s major series at Talladega. The team won its first race at Talladega in the NSCS event in the spring of 1995. Former Roush Fenway driver Mark Martin won for the organization in all three series at the 2.66-Mile oval.

Roush Fenway has started 185 NSCS races at Talladega, recording a total of four victories, 31 top-five finishes, 65 top-10 finishes, an average finish of 18.5 and has led 986 laps. Former Roush Fenway driver Matt Kenseth earned the most recent victory at Talladega in the fall of 2012.
Resurgence Makes Roush Fenway and Restrictor-Plate Racing Like Peas and Carrots Again
The Roush Fenway restrictor-plate program has experienced a rejuvenation in recent seasons. The organization won two of the four restrictor-plate races in 2012 and have won five restrictor-plate races overall in the NSCS dating back to 2009. Most recently in the XFINITY Series, Roush Fenway drivers Ryan Reed and Chris Buescher finished first and second in the first restrictor-plate race of the season at Daytona International Speedway.

Roush Fenway has run a total of 379 Sprint Cup races with restrictor plates, earning 11 victories, 68 top-fives, 135 top-10s and has led 2,003 laps.
Big Wheels Keep on Turnin’
Roush Fenway has earned two victories, five top-five finishes, 12 top-10 finishes and an average start of 12.2 at Talladega in the XFINITY Series. Former Roush Fenway driver David Ragan recorded the organization’s most recent XFINITY victory at the 2.66-Mile oval in the spring of 2009.

Heading into this weekend at Talladega, all four of Roush Fenway’s XFINITY drivers rank inside the top eight in the championship standings. Buescher is third, Bubba Wallace is fourth, Elliott Sadler is seventh and Reed is eighth.
Defending Race Winner
Sadler enters this weekend’s XFINITY Series race at Talladega as the defending champion, having won this event last season after starting second and leading 40 laps. Buescher ran second in this event to Sadler.
