ROUSH PERFORMANCE TO HOST VIRTUAL iRACING LEAGUE
Using the motorsports simulation platform iRacing, ROUSH Performance will be hosting a series of virtual races open to both professionals and amateurs on world renowned racetracks.
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Michigan (April 9, 2020) – ROUSH Performance is excited to announce the launch of the ROUSH Performance iRacing League. Utilizing the iRacing virtual motorsports simulator, ROUSH Performance will be hosting an All-Star Race featuring professional racing drivers as well as a Public Series with 3 races open to public participation.
The All-Star Race is the first event in the league. It is scheduled for April 15, 2020, at 7:30 PM Eastern and will take place at the Road America track. Drivers participating in this thrilling race include: Jack Roush Jr., Greg Biffle, Chris Buescher, Joey Atterbury, Robb Holland, Jade Buford, Dean Martin, Nate Stacy, Kyle Marcelli, Ken Wilden, Andy Lally, Owen Trinkler, Guy Cosmo, Billy Johnson, Matt Plumb, Corey Fergus, and Shelby Blackstock. All drivers will race using the Ford GT GTLM race car with a locked default set-up. All races will be streamed live via ROUSH Performance Facebook Livestream; here.
“iRacing is an amazing platform that I’ve used for many years for my own driver development,” said Jack Roush Jr. “In these tough times, I’m looking forward to running events and celebrating performance and racing despite the current lack of live events.”
In addition to the All-Star Race, there will be three races open to the public for participation. The Public Series starts on April 24, 2020, at 7:30 PM Eastern and takes place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The second public race will compete at Virginia International Raceway on May 1, 2020, at 7:30 PM Eastern. The series will conclude on May 8, 2020, at 7:30 PM Eastern at Watkins Glen International Raceway. Races will be one hour in length and be preceded by a qualifying session.
Applications to participate in the ROUSH Performance iRacing League will be accepted from April 9, 2020, through April 14, 2020. Participants must be over the age of 18 to apply and drivers will be selected at the discretion of ROUSH Performance. To apply, visit this application.
